YARD WASTE COLLECTION UPDATE
Grass clippings, leaves, small branches and other yard waste
will be collected through the last full calendar week of
October 2008. A reminder that yard waste must be placed
in clear plastic bags. Eight (8) thirty (30) gallon clear
plastic bags may be placed each week at the curb. This
material is in addition to the weekly limit of household trash.
A special reminder that leaves only, if raked to the curb, will be collected by the City Street Department, beginning mid to
late October. The schedule will be published on this web site.
Bagged leaves will be collected if you contact the Street Department
at 724-6054.
TRAFFIC
ALERT !!!!!!!!
DIAMOND PARK - 90 DAY TRIAL PERIOD
Traffic patterns will be changing around the Diamond,
for a 90 day trial period. Beginning Wednesday, September 17,2008 at
7:00 a.m. the
traffic signal at the intersection of South Main Street and Chestnut
Street will be rendered inoperable. During this time,
westbound traffic on Chestnut Street will be diverted around the
Diamond. Left hand turns from South Main Street to west bound
Chestnut Street will be prohibited.
Signs will be installed to direct motorists. Please read and follow
these signs, carefully.
NORTH MAIN STREET PARKING- 90 DAY TRIAL
Effective Monday, September 8, 2008 at 8:00 a.m. parking on North Main Street
from Allegheny Street to Loomis Street will be eliminated for a 90
day trial period. Please be alert to the signs.

CONSTRUCTION ALERT!!!!!!!
PIPE REPLACEMENT
PROJECT ON NORTH STREET
The
City of Meadville will be replacing the pipe carrying North Street
over Ellis Run. Work is expected to start the week of
July 7TH,
and continue for approximately 6 weeks. North
Street will be closed from the eastern most driveway of the
Meadville Area Middle/Senior High School to the service driveway of
the Crawford County Area Vocational Technical School. These
driveways will remain open during construction. Residents will be able to access their homes from the Morgan Street
end.
PIPE REPLACEMENT PROJECT ON NORTH STREET UPDATE
Wall construction nears completion. The
roadway will be open at 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 27th with a
gravel surface. Paving of the road is expected to be completed by
the end of September.
