Housing Authority

The Housing Authority of the City of Meadville is a five-member authority providing public housing assistance programs to low income and senior citizens within the City of Meadville. An Executive Director oversees the day-to-day operations and staff. The purpose of the Housing Authority is to provide decent, safe and sanitary housing at affordable rates for low-income, very low-income and extremely low-income persons. The Housing Authority owns and manages 347 units of low-income public housing which includes: Elmwood and Morgan Village, Holland Towers, William Gill Commons and 15 scattered sites. The Housing Authority has the capacity to manage 155 units of Section 8 vouchers.

Eligibility Requirements: Those interested in serving on the Housing Authority must be citizens residing in the City of Meadville. Additionally, no more than two persons holding any other paid public office shall be members of the same housing authority at the same time and at least one member must be directly assisted by the public housing agency.

Meetings: Second Wednesday of the month at 2:00 p.m. at Holland Towers, 1120 Market St.
